Srisailam Trip

04 May

Previous Saturday we went to Srisailam. Its very hot summer and one of the hottest days. We started very early in the morning from Hyderabad. That is 5AM. Reached Srisailam on almost zero traffic roads by 9:30AM. The road is OK, there are some places where it is in bad condition overall bearable road. Compared to SuryapeTa road, this Srisailam road is almost free. I don’t see many towns and villages also in this area. There seems to be good growth opportunity in this area. We directly went to Darshan and came out from temple by 11:30AM. The temple is good. At the first glance you don’t see many of sculptures here like Beluru, but when you carefully examine there indeed beautiful sculptures every where in this temple. Almost every part of outer big wall is filled with carvings describing different things in those days. Like war-elephants, war-horses, actual war scenarios, people fighting with bears, somebody beheading and his relatives mourning at the same place (see the picture) etc.. etc.. If you go there carefully encircle outer wall and u can see the life style of those centrues (500 years back?).

In side the temple also there are beautifully, carefully molded elephants. I saw many inscriptions some in Telugu and some in Kannada. If you know any book where these are all explained, please leave a comment would love to go through them. And the big Nandi is really gigantic in its structure. It is awesome Nandi. watching it from back reminds me descriptions from Gilgamesh heaven bull. It took one to two hours to complete Darshan. Unlike Tirumala here people are not pushing out! And the devotees are also very friendly. This kind of behavior is not present in Tirumala where even devotees push you like hell. May be because of summer holidays there are many devotees present. It seems actually we can go inside Garbha GRuha (sanctum sanctorum ) and touch Siva Lingam. But today may be because of heavy crowd we were not allowed inside. After Darshan we came out and visited Manohara Gundam, this is a small room on the left of actual temple inside Shiva temple complex. Inside this room there are water, pure water. Just like water at Maha Nandi temple we can visible see anything at the bottom. Like one rupee coins are clearly visible.

After that we visited other small Lingams in the same complex. There are many Lingams in the same complex. Old Mallikaarjuna temple is one interesting Lingam.

After that we went out and entered into Goddess BramaraaMba temple complex. This temple is much more beautiful. In particular the pillers and carvings, sculptors present inside. After Darshan of Bramaramba we went to Prasadam section and had delicious Pulihora, Laddu. And then enjoyed freshly made Moosambi juice.

It is around 11:30 AM. We went to paataala Ganga from here. This is actually River Krishna flowing in deep valley. The name paataala is aptly suited for this place. It is too deep. Now we have Srisailam Dam. and there are good amount of water. Even then the water is too deep. It may be much more deeper in the olden days. and paataala Ganga is very suitable name. We took cable car to cover half of the distance from there we walked all the steps and took a small boat ride in the water. I have serious plans to visit Akka mahadevi temple. In my previous visit I liked both the boat ride and actual caves. But boats are available only up to 12PM and we missed the last boat. Probably next time we will cover it. After small boat ride we took a wonderful bath in river Krishna and came up to Srisailam again. It is now 3PM and had Lunch in Ilapuram? Hotel. Lunch is OK.

Then we went to Sakshi Ganapati temple followed by Sikhara Darshanam. Then back to Hyderabad by 10PM.

Data Centers, Call centers on ocean tides; khool idea?

03 May

After reading this news
About google’s patent on Floating Data centers.

I think this idea may be helpful in India too.

We have frequent power failures.
We are already burdening our infrastructure of metros.
We are very slow at improving infra in our metros.

If we can use our coast effectively, We can put-up floating structures which will be self sufficient in terms of power, bandwidth, then I think we can cost effectively produce some more output.

At the same time we can move the development to some of the development starved places. If you take example of Andhra Pradesh state, we can leave the assumption of everything in Hyderabad!

YSR, Jagan, Sakshi eating grass to be Kings for next five years!

21 Apr

Today in sakshi there is an article with an old dummy paper of eenadu. This shows the extent of bad politics these politicians can play to save their kingdom for next five years.
1. It is common to have dummy papers to compete and release news paper to market ASAP. Not for print is clearly written over the paper, why the hell are they making a big issue with this dummy paper? If they are so confident of their positive vote, why don’t they claim and project it? why all these shady negative techniques to lure people? They are already in sod upto neck, and now seems completely under it. It is even common for our news papers (all starting from news papers of 1950′s or before them) to have articles ready on big big people, if they are nearer to their death. Does that mean our news papers want them to die ASAP? OK, I stop here, Only Holy Lord Christ can save people of Andhra Pradesh from the grip of these bad owls.
BTW isn’t it dummy copy a proprietary document? not to be revealed outside?

Teludu desam party (TDP) manifesto – Analysis

11 Apr

The manifesto can be read here.

This manifesto started with message of their president Chandra babu naidu. He used this opportunity to attack on congress ruthlessly.

Money Distribution Scheme:

The manifesto started with this scheme. So we can assume this is the most important scheme they are promising. According to the manifesto they divide people eligible into three categories ultra-poor, poor, middle-class and distribute 2000, 1500, 500 per head to the woman head of each family. Even farmers with less land ownership are also eligible.

These are the only two technical details given in the manifesto; rest is all word jugglery and describing why we need this and how we can do this. Whenever somebody questions the feasibility of this manifesto, supporters show the current Andhra pradesh budget to close their mouths. But there are two things we need to consider, one is current Recession which is affecting income of Govt of Andhra Pradesh too. And second one is new Government may not earn much in real estate business as current Raja Shekar Reddy Government earned. Then this leaves us with other options to increase income. One way is to increase taxes, but already there are huge taxes in AP. I don’t think they can be increase more than certain level without much chaos. The only option as far as I can see is to utilize resources available in state plus using human resources available in AP and earn as much as possible. There is lot of scope from AP to become richer state. It needs to concentrate on companies which invest in research and development. It needs to concentrate on companies which invent and create for India and succeed at International market too. A handful of successful companies from AP, if emerged, state can see double the income from current level. As a IT revolution utilize Naidu has much more probability to achieve these results. (on a personal level this (confidence on Naidu) is one of the reasons, and probably a major reason for me to cast my vote to TDP in spite of cine/caste/opportunistic/corrupt angles of TDP)

There are two issues I can see in this money distribution. One being corruption. The more corrupt the scheme become the less useful it is to people and state. The second one is money availability as discussed above.

What can happen? If this scheme is implemented?

1. There will be no poor family in AP – over night situation changes.

2. There won’t be any more hunger deaths.

3. One of the interesting feature of this scheme is, this is independent of caste, religion. Thus this won’t divide Indian society any further.

4. Demand for Washing machines, vacuum cleaners may increase over-night, as it will be difficult to get a maid with affordable price. I hope some Indian company will utilize this chance and thus avoid dumping our money to the Korian companies. I remember reading in the book Future cast 2020 , unless Indians become more intelligent and start producing home-grown competitive products they can become a dumping ground for Korian products!

5. May be everybody will own a cell phone.

6. People may start working with much more dignity and with much more hard work. Money will increase greed to earn more money J

The second promise in the manifesto is Free color TV!

I am not sure what is the situation in Tamil Nadu about this scheme, if somebody know please leave a comment. To me this looks like a popular promise. The merits of this scheme is more add revenue to TV channels, may be all the TV channels in AP (> 15?) will survive even after elections. And cable TV operators are the ones who are going to benefit a lot from this scheme. Overnight they are going to be saved from satellite TV competition. This may create some more employment.

NTR Complete health care scheme.

This is the third promise. To me this more or less looks like renaming current Aarogya Sri Scheme. But there is a mention of Government Hospital. Not sure what is going to change. But at least they promise to keep current scheme intact.

To me, A govt is success in health when our Government hospitals become in par with any other corp hospital.

Farmers

May pages are written over this, looks like they want to attract farmers like anything. Looks like they did lot of ground work. There are many popular promises. Basically they want to apply modern technical details and even that for free.

- One cold storage for every village.

o This is really nice promise, if kept will be useful.

- Kooli under upaadi haami scheme

o This is also very useful to farmers, I know many who stopped active agriculture because of un availability of koolies(workers).

Anyhow my personal opinion is TDP promises looks much better and benefits farmers in both long term and short term. Unlike current Congress current schemes of burning house for coal – kind of schemes.

There is a ¾ page for separate Telangana

Youth

There are lots of schemes for youth. I think they will be useful to atleast TDP kaarya kartalu (activists)

But on interesting promise , youth festivals per year in every Mandal. This if implemented without any politics, then will add lot of value to Andhra Pradesh youth.

I believe youth needs opportunities not some popular money distribution schemes. And Naidu is capable of creating opportunities, Hope if he comes to power much more employment will be created.

And

- More Residentails schools.

o Good one.

- Rajaka cast to be made SC.

o May be possible, as they are already SC in 17 states.

o May get good number of votes. How many?

- There is atleast ¾ page for each BC caste.

- Girijan University will be started.

o Good one. I wish Khammam will get this chance J

- Telugu Bhavan’s in other countries.

o Again very good one.

o They should have added money for Telugu language teaching in other universities.

- Weekly five day week, instead of current 6 day week.

o Again good one.

Etc.. etc..
